The UUCG Endowment Fund
The UUCG Endowment Fund is meant to strengthen our faith community in the years to come. Friends and members of UUCG can make lasting financial contributions to the mission of this church.
Gifts to the Endowment Fund will be held untouched until a balance of more than $100,000 is held. Then, as long as the balance remains above that level, the UUCG Board and the Endowment Fund Committee will decide how to disburse any interest.
Currently, about $18,700 is held in the Fund. From establishment in 2007 with a gift from the Rev. Steven Reinhartsen, it has taken ten years to approach a Fund balance one-fifth the amount we need to begin disbursements. Can we do better? Can we match those gifts in half the time? Can we achieve a Fund balance over $40,000 in five years?
What would the Endowment Fund be able to help with?
It’s all about our mission.
One of three Endowment fund accounts is for Social Outreach and Service. Distributions from this account are to support our mission of helping improve the larger community.
Endowment Fund disbursements could increase our support for local agencies such as Urban Ministry or Hospice that help ease suffering of our neighbors.Let’s Get Physical
Our second account is to help pay for major capital expenditures. This will come in handy, for example, if our roof ever leaks or we need to make a significant improvement to the physical property.Unrestricted with limits.
One third of the Endowment Fund account cannot be used for customary and ordinary operating expenses. Other than that…
For example, we could send our youth to a future district Convention, or send our elected officers to leadership training, and not expect them to pay for it.
The UUCG Funds are administered by the Committee on Endowment Fund, elected by the Congregation. The Fund is held in the Unitarian Universalist Common Endowment Fund.

Contact the church to arrange to make a Lifetime gift to the Endowment Fund, a financial contribution now, to see your contribution help us reach our goal of $100,000. And you can make a testamentary gift by including us in your will or memorial contributions.
The UUCG Endowment Fund Committee has a beautiful Honor Card you will receive when you make a donation to honor or remember someone. You complete the message in the card and mail it to the honoree or family, to let them know of your thoughtfulness.
We are also accepting subscriptions for engraved paving stones in our Memorial Garden for a contribution of $200 or more. Each four-by-eight-inch paver will accept up to three lines of up to 12 characters each. Please contact one of the committee members if you are interested in a paver.
Whether you choose a Lifetime or Testamentary gift, you will be giving lasting support to the mission of our Church.
