My family joined UUCG in 2013 just after our second child was born, and since we have had a third child! Now we have a 6 year old, 4 year old, and a 1 year old. Here at the church I have been active on the Religious Education Committee, helped to teach OWL in the past, and I currently co-teach the Pre-K – 1st grade RE class. My day job is working in the Anthropology Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a Health Educator in a food and nutrition community education program, and I am adjunct faculty member in the Public Health Education department. We have lived in Greensboro for almost 20 years, and we can’t imagine raising our children anywhere else. We love the resources and activities that are available to our children and for us. I have been very involved in the local Black Lives Matter chapter, and social justice is one of the main reasons we decided to join UUCG.
